Green Emerald Buffet in Watertown

I still think this is one of the best buffets in the state, if you have a thick skin and can ignore the rude customer service, and you get there right at 11AM or at least before Noon which is the optimal time for any chinese buffet. The chicken selections are the best. Any buffet that has orange chicken (this one and Brandon are the only ones) is alright in my book. The one in pierre gets better reviews and that one sucks.

Great food

Food tasted great. I particularly loved the buttered crab.

The place needs updates in the bathroom. It is stained/dirty grime on the light switch covers and no toilet paper dispenser in the stalls. And the coconut shrimp and what was labeled as crab balls were actually chicken and not shrimp or crab. It also needs a very deep cleaning and the trim work around the entry is separating. The entry doors were covered in frost on the inside and the snow needed to be cleaned from the main entryway outside.

Food was decent. Run of the mill buffet stuff. Service was lousy. Only communication from them was "twelve fifty". No joke. But the 55 year old-ish woman working there was on the phone the entire time during my 30 minute dining experience. There are flies in there, too. Left 0 tip.

I think my taste buds were off today because I usually like their food. Service was great, busy for lunch, lots of food to choose from. Thought about giving them 3 stars this time but decided not to since the other people I ate with liked it and usually I do, too and everything else was great.

Went in at 6PM and the food seemed to have been sitting out all day, could have chipped a tooth on the rice

I've been coming here since it opened and usually enjoyed everything I chose but the last few times my boyfriend and I have come in it's been terrible..the lady at the register is very rude/grumpy and doesnt greet anyone anymore..its like they have just given up on service in every aspect. The food tastes and looks old and the sauces are definitely not fresh anymore..you could make a better meal at home for less money. We will not be returning again since it just seems to get worse everytime we give them another chance.

They've changed the name from Green Emerald to Hibachi Grill, so we thought we'd give it another try. It's been at least 2 years since we are here last. Big mistake. Wasn't good then, probably even worse now if that's even possible. Repulsive and overpriced. Stay away.

Food was gross, noodles were barely warm. While eating there I witnessed one of the workers clean the floor and food area counter with the same rag. Haven't been back since and wouldn't recommend to anyone!!

Had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to come ring up our meals, she was short with us. Then walked away like we weren't there. The food was cold and old. Finally they put out fresh food and it was good. Soda fountain was out of CO2 but they said it was fine. All syrup. Do not recommend for the price.

Food tasted like it was microwaved, they also charged my friend 4 times, then said it was 7 dollars short of 4 people so I had to help pay then we just took it as a loss and hate there day old microwaved food. Meat tasted like cat, not real asian cat but like domesticated cat. Overall fun to experiance my friend getting screwed, but will never go back.

Giving them a couple stars because we do go back for the exotic mussels/clams, anything with fried onions, and the literal handfuls of fortune cookies I stuff into my coat and purse. Otherwise, the front desk lady is stone cold and the place can best be described as "sticky." I think we were overcharged for the dinner rate instead of the lunch rate one time, too... Eh.

I hope I don't get food poisoning. Expensive, dirty, and milk with floaters in it. Call the health board.

A sumptuous buffet. Enjoy a meal at Green Emerald today! It tastes as good as mud tastes awful.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! Absolutely the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. The only thing in the buffer was different chicken. The food was half cold or cold and over cooked. The lo mein noodles were over cooked. The lady that was at the register was rude and threw the receipt at me. DEFINITELY WILL NOT EVER GO BACK! 😡

Great food and take the whole family there and friendly people.

Food was warm not hot

Seems to be in decline. After going through the buffet, we decided it is now the Chinese chicken place. Except for some fried shrimp, every other item with meat had chicken in it. Restrooms were dirty and not tended. Once upon a time, it was clean with good variety but those days seem far ago.

Hibachi Grill and Buffet. A major chain of these restaurants and the others are excellent. This one is a very decent place to eat. The food is good, the fish, excellent. Decent assortment. Very nice facility. The first time I was here I mistakenly thought the management to be rude. They are not. They are nice hard-working folks it's just their way is a bit different. The negative reviews on this restaurant are obviously cruel Lies by competitors or folks that are just nasty.

Not the best, but the best in town I guess.It is listed twice on google once as a hibachi and once as a buffet both at best mediocre.

Food was cold, but place was clean

Terrible service. Called them to ask a question, and the lady on the phone was very rude and hung up on me. So I went in, and with no surprise, she was rude again. Food is not good, or fresh, and it is filthy in there. If you’re looking for good Chinese food in Watertown, China Wok is the way to go.

Thought I would give the place another shot since it had been a long time since I had been there and they didn't disappoint. Still the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Honestly I don't know how this place stays in business.

Every time I eat there the food is disgusting and the place is dirty. The restroom smells like it hasn't been cleaned in months. All around bad experience. Will never go back again.

Less than 1☆...Horrible! Worst buffet i have ever experienced. The choices were bare. The food looked old and wasn't the warmest. Place is not clean. Staff was extremely RUDE!! No instruction as to where to where you find the drinks, silverware, napkins. Partially cuz they speak NO English. And for what was on the buffet it was almost $40 for 2 of us! NEVER AGAIN!!!

It was barely ok.Some of the food was actually pretty decent tasting but not hot at all. Most items were barely warm. Some of the food was way too greasy and sitting too long which made it crusty.Took forever for someone to clean tables! Buffet price is way too high! Steer clear of this place if you're looking to be satisfied. Overall not a good experience.We should have heeded the bad reviews and when we saw it was not busy on a Friday night, we should have known it wasn't a good idea to stop here.We Won't be returning.

Started out with no greeting, not even a hello or word of thanks from the “personality” at the register. In fact, no one who works there said a single word to us the whole time. Our card was thrown back at us on the counter and we were not given a receipt or offered one. We’ll be watching for the transaction to post - if it’s for even $0.01 over $25, it will be disputed. The first plate I picked up was dirty, smeared with greasy grossness. The food was mediocre at best. We will not be back.

Good food choices most was not hot.

Renamed Hebachi Grill. Went there today (Mother's day). Forgot to make reservations elsewhere. There's a reason they weren't busy.. Food is ok at best but everything including the chairs and tables are sticky. Worst part was when they pulled the service cart by with the bucket they wipe the tables with and get the plates the solution looked like mud. Dirty water.. Thats what there wiping there tables down with. (Barely at best) Got there at 11:45 am. Plus bad service just like it was when it was the Green Emerald. Don't bother.

This place is lucky I’m even giving it one star. Eating here never used to be so bad but I will not be returning ever again. Food was awful. Chicken was soggy and cold, desserts were hard as a rock, service was horrible (the lady that took our payment was on her phone the whole time and didn’t even look us in the eye), plates and tables were dirty, and some of the food smelled and looked rotten. The only thing that appeared and tasted edible was the lo mein.

Service was bad only one was able to speak very little English. Food just barely warm there were two trays warm . The rice crispy bars looked as if they had been taken of plates and put back on the tray regretted letting my boy eat the rice crispy bars

I do not recommend this place at all There were flies everywhere person who greets you at the door was in a bad mude she must a had a rough night her hair's were everywhere After for silverware should brought me some they were really dirty had black stains over it got upset when a showed it to her Food was old

Do not eat at this buffet! The food is old, rotten tasting and old. I wish I would’ve read these reviews before I wasted my money. I’m praying that we haven’t gotten food poisoning.

I have definitely had better. There rice was way over cooked and wasn't even a sticky rice.

All you can eat 9.58 and then theirs a 3.00 for? And when I ask what the 3.00 charge is for no one speaks English ?

Average buffet. Veggies were mostly raw.

Food was not fresh. Food did not have good taste. Terrible service. No fortune cookies. Dirty dishes all over tables from prior customers that WERE NOT cleared the entire 40 minutes we were there. Please please please save yourself and DO NOT GO HERE

Authentic eating environment. Great variety. The staff require patience to talk to.

Food is mediocre, and always cold, but if you are looking to fill up on MSG, this is the place for you.
